Pipeline

NTSG has developed specific solutions for various applications in the water and sewage sector:

  • OF Water: for monitoring water pipes and the water flowing through them;
  • OF Sewerage: for monitoring the sewer network and waste water;
  • OF SmartPipe: an innovative sensor-based pipe relining service.

WATER PIPES – PREVENTION WITH “OF WATER”.

The “OF Water” system has two main objectives: the structural monitoring of the pipeline and the monitoring of leaks in the pipeline; the first type is based on the “OF” patent and the second on the “OF Pipe” patent. The measurements performed by the two types of monitoring are:

  • pipeline deformations
  • pipeline leakage;
  • temperature;
  • pipeline bottom installation;
  • flow rate;
  • pressure.

SYSTEM POSITIONING

  • Outside or inside (inspectable) the pipeline.
  • Inside pressure or free-flowing pipelines.

PROPERTIES

  • Static monitoring of pipeline deformation;
  • Identification of the presence, position and size of a leak;
  • Thermal profile of the pipeline;
  • Real-time monitoring of pipeline movements caused by the failure of the support structure or by external agents;
  • Measurement of pipeline corrosion effect and related deterioration;
  • Identification of utilities/connections presence, position and activity;
  • Monitoring of pipeline flow and pressure;
  • Pipeline route definition.

NTSG has developed several mathematical models for the interpretation of the measurements performed by the “OF Water” system and the calculation of engineering quantities derived from them. The models are implemented in the proprietary software “Edgegateway” which acquires in real time the above mentioned measurements, uses them to derive other engineering quantities described in the Properties section and manages alarm systems to the users.

SEWERAGE PIPELINES – “OF SEWERAGE”: CIVIL AND INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

The “OF Sewerage” system has two main objectives: the structural monitoring of the pipeline and the monitoring of sewage in the pipeline; the first type is based on the “OF” patent and the second on the “OF Pipe” patent. The two types of monitoring apply to the following civil and industrial areas:

  • Sewerage networks
  • Ventilation pipelines
  • Fire-fighting networks
  • District heating networks
  • Water treatment plants
  • District heating plants
  • Free-standing and pressure pipelines
  • Water networks

SYSTEM POSITIONING

  • Outside or inside (serviceable) the pipeline
  • Inside pressure or free-flowing pipelines

PROPERTIES

  • Static monitoring of pipeline deformation
  • Pipeline vibration monitoring
  • Measurement of pipeline corrosion effect and its deterioration
  • Identification of parasitic water presence, position and area of influence
  • Identification of presence and position of connections
  • Monitoring of connection activity
  • Level of effluent in the pipeline
  • Velocity of effluent in the pipeline
  • Pipeline flow rate
  • Temperature of effluent and pipeline
  • Presence of laying at the bottom of the pipeline
  • Pipeline access identification
